Professor R. L. Rochat, an eminent gynaecologist, founds Clinique de Montchoisi.
To meet a growing need and to offer its clients an all-round service, the clinic is extended in 1964.
The Swiss Medical Network group takes over the Clinique de Montchoisi to expand its activities in the Geneva basin.
With the Neuchatel start-up company Swiss Advanced Vision, the clinic offers a world first in cataract surgery. After clinical tests on 120 patients operated on by Dr André Mermoud and thanks to new generation multifocal implants developed by the start-up company, patients recover high-quality near, far and intermediate vision. This concept of multifocal lenses has been patented and was awarded the Neode prize for innovation in 2009.
Clinique de Montchoisi undertook major renovation work. This work has made it possible to add a cutting-edge radiology institute, as well as a pergola, which has since given its name to the restaurant, and a 45-space car park for the greater comfort of its clients.
Clinique de Montchoisi continues its renovation work. In addition to freshening up the rooms and premises, the ophthalmology department has been completely renovated and counts now 3 operating rooms.
